Pinup Girl Outside of Bettie

Hi it's me, Amanda! It's my first post on Seattle Chic (hopefully to be one of many) .

The picture below I took on my vacation last month to San Francisco. I am posting it because even though she is not from Seattle, she is dressed pretty awesomely (kind of like Bettie Page). Although she probably works for the store, decent dressing is decent dressing.

Whoever Said A Middle-Aged Bird Doesn't Have Swagger?

Possibly one of the coolest bag ladies I've ever seen running around downtown Seattle.

Yes, a huge necklace worn with a scarf is very silly, and her scrunched pants aren't completely flattering, but I admire her despite all of that. It's kind of awesome finding older people that still dress interestingly!

Why We Write

We want to show that New York City, Paris, London and Milan aren't the only cities with great style. We've seen some amazing outfits, amazing clothing, and we believe they deserve the Sartorialist treatment, too. In the process, we'll get to know the citizens of the city. Perhaps Seattle will finally gain that status it has long striven for, with it's style, it's art, it's industry, and it's people standing tall next to those of other fashion and media capitols of the world. What can we say? We're ambitious.

An Introduction

Main Contributors:

Amelia O'Flaherty was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and although she has an Irish surname, she is probably Swedish or something. Aside from devoting herself to all things Seattle, her life and areas of interest consist mainly of writing, music, fashion, visual art, food, and her commitment to Francophilia.

Amanda Meisler was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, up until the age of 12, when she moved to Seattle to live with her Aunt a few years ago. She is of mostly German descent. She will, most definitely, become a fashion designer.
